Protecting the Injured + Disabled

Auto Accidents | Property Damage

In most auto accidents, most property damage is confined to the cars that are involved in the accident. There are cases, however, when the accident may involve other structures (fences, posts) or personal property (a bicycle or equipment). In Alabama, there are two types of insurance that cover property damage.

Alabama Property Damage

This component pays for damage that you cause to someone else’s property (their car, a fence, etc.) when you are at fault in an accident. It does not cover damage to your car. If damages exceed the limits you carry, you will be held personally liable for any excess costs.

Collision Coverage

This optional component covers damage to your vehicle in the event of an accident.

If you are in an accident that involves only property damage and no one is injured, you probably do not need to hire an attorney. Charles Pitman Injury Lawyers does handle property damage claims for those it represents in injury cases.
